Evaluation

Based on analysis of consumption patterns

In determining the size of an ideal PV system, two important areas are typically considered: the patterns and levels of the consumer’s electricity consumption, and the available space at the point of consumption.

To get an accurate picture of the electricity consumption profile, we monitor the consumer’s quarter-hour metering data for at least a year, which can help us to determine what exactly the maximum PV system capacity is worth considering, and how much solar energy is consumed immediately and what quantity cannot be consumed by the facility.

After examining the consumption data, we carry out a site visit to see how the recommended system size can be installed most efficiently. It is important to check that there is sufficient surface area to install the system in the correct orientation. In many cases, solar site surveys concerning roofs are conducted using a 3D drone method to minimize the customer’s time taken while collecting accurate measurements.

In addition to assessing the available surface area, we also work with our electrical design colleagues to assess how the PV system can be connected to the consumer’s electricity grid or to the public networks.

Quote

Preparation of detailed price offer and production-return calculations

Once we have determined the optimal size of the PV system, we prepare a detailed quote in order be able to calculate the return on investment.

If the consumer wishes to implement the photovoltaic system by means of a tender, we finalize our quote according to the appropriate formal requirements and prepare the solar power documentation and plans required for the tender.

Using the quarter-hour electricity metering data and the consumer’s electricity bills, we can determine the exact amount of production a given PV system will provide per year and how this is adjusted to its power consumption. This way we can assess how many kWh of the solar energy that can be produced is actually used. We add the purchase costs to this data to determine the annual savings for 10 years ahead, and also the return on the system’s purchase cost.

Authorization

Planning, authorization and expert activities

We generally use our own staff, if necessary, with the involvement of external experts, to carry out engineering tasks required for the implementation of solar power plants or the preparation of tender documents:

  • electrical and architectural design
  • electricity supply permits
  • building permits
  • Hungarian Energy and Utility Regulatory Agency (MEKH) combined permit of power plants
  • administrative procedures
  • energy certificates, energy calculations for tenders
  • static tests, expert opinions
  • geodesic surveys, expert opinions
  • lightning protection testing and design
  • preparation of fire safety plan

Construction

Premium equipment and 5-year contractor's guarantee

Once all the necessary permits for the PV system are obtained, our contractors will carry out the physical implementation. We use only high quality, premium products in our processes to ensure long-term reliability. First, the mounting structure of the system is built, onto which our colleagues install the solar panels. Next, the direct current side of the PV system is completed up to the inverters, followed by the electrical installation upgrades on the inverter and alternating current side. The connection of the system to the grid is agreed with our customers in advance, then later the connection to the public grid is completed with the electricity supplier.

A communication system is installed to the PV system, so that the consumer can monitor the operation of the system and receive notifications of any malfunctions.

In addition to the manufacturer’s warranty on the products, our company provides a full 5-year contractor’s warranty on all PV systems developed by us. The inverters are covered by a basic manufacturer’s warranty of 5-10 years, but this can be extended to 10-20 years on request. Solar panels are covered by a 12-15-year manufacturer’s warranty, backed by a 25-year performance guarantee.

For systems with an AC output of more than 50 kWp, we provide maintenance services free of charge once a year for the first 5 years.

Tender writing

We look for the best solutions adapted to your specific needs

There are several tendering opportunities from European Union or domestic resources available for small and medium-sized enterprises or large corporations to develop their activities or infrastructure and become more efficient.

There are many pitfalls in setting up a successful application concept, but even later, when it comes to accounting for the grants awarded, there can be problems that can only be addressed with experience and adequate market knowledge. Among other things, these are the problems to which the tender writing and project management company in our group, ConsulTender Kft. provides solutions.

Until now, the tender consultancy services have been provided by Newergies Kft., but due to the significant increase in the number of assignments, we now ensure the usual high-quality services as a separate company as of the beginning of 2022. Our tender consultants have been involved in the preparation and subsequent management of more than 800 successful tenders.

The most common development themes our customers seek are the following:

  • energy investments: energy efficiency developments and installation of renewable energy capacity
  • R+D tenders
  • equipment procurement and technological investments
  • infrastructure development: establishment of new buildings and halls, renovations of old ones
  • job creation

Project management

Management of the entire project implementation process

The implementation of a small solar power plant involves a number of interlinked processes, which in many cases need to be managed in parallel in order to minimize the project’s implementation time. Following the signing of a contract, the planning processes start at the same time as the electricity supply authorization. After the first provisional consent from the electricity supplier, our procurement colleagues order the products to be installed and, if necessary, we also manage the processes for obtaining the building permits and overall power plant authorization. By the time the equipment arrives at the customer’s site, the effective permits will already be available and the physical implementation of the project can begin.

We have dedicated project managers at our company, who work to ensure that professionals of different fields can work together as closely as possible in the implementation of the solar power plant.
